The Scoop: A cold night in Miami, Florida, may mean a breezy 50 degrees, but singles still seek partners to keep them warm. Matchmaker and Dating Coach Dan Silverman helps those singles prepare for fun dates by teaching them proven techniques for success. He offers immersive training to teach clients how to overcome dating fears and learned habits. Dan also makes connections with many Miami singles, so he can find clients relationships that last much longer than a Florida winter.

Cuffing season is one of the most wonderful times of the year.

The cheeky term refers to the season when singles kick their search for a partner to cozy up with into high gear. As the weather gets cooler, there’s something a little more inviting about having someone with whom to share some warmth.

The term takes on a whole new relevance during the age of social distancing. With quarantines and shelter-at-home mandates popping up across the U.S. due to the COVID-19 pandemic, people who are in serious — and happy — relationships have a social outlet that singles lack.

Singles in Miami turn to Dan Silverman to match them with compatible partners.

Those whose parents have expressed concern about their single status may also use cuffing season as a chance to find someone they can show off for the holidays.

Others may just want someone to kiss while “Auld Lang Syne” plays as they ring in the new year.

Miami Matchmaker and Dating Coach Dan Silverman sees the uptick in business that the cuffing season brings to Florida, even if the temperatures don’t dip too low.

“I am getting a lot of people registering to my database,” he said. “And if you don’t want to spend another lonely holiday season with your family guilt-tripping you over the fact that you’re still single, give me a call.”

Dan has nearly a decade of experience in helping singles find love in the Miami-Dade area. He teaches clients the skills and the confidence they need to express their feelings and find that special someone — whether it’s cuffing season or any time of the year.

A Mission to Teach Singles How to Avoid Heartbreak

As the only specialized matchmaker in Miami, Dan said he started his business with the simple desire to help clients find the perfect partners.

“Miami is a notoriously difficult city to date in,” he said. “I’ve had quite a share of heartbreaks growing up, and I was inspired to help prevent people from going through the same pain I went through, or at the very least, give guidance to those who are totally lost navigating the dating scene.”

That’s why Dan chose to work with singles on a personal level. He isn’t part of a multinational matchmaking corporation, so he can offer a personal touch and connect people he knows will work well together. He even carries a stack of business cards with him at all times, just in case he bumps into someone who would be perfect for one of his clients in the grocery store.

Miami Matchmaker and Dating Coach Dan Silverman teaches men and women how to get ready for love.

Dan started working on his business while he was still in school. He said his single friends — all men — started asking him for advice about their love lives. He helped many of them find meaningful relationships after some coaching. Then, more women started to approach him for help. Soon, his coaching clients were asking Dan to fix them up with each other. So, matchmaking was a natural next step.

His firsthand experience with the ups and downs of dating allows him to provide an empathetic ear and strategic tips to both men and women. His coaching and matchmaking aim is to fill clients’ calendars with dates that will lead to long-term relationships. The idea of finding someone during cuffing season may seem playful, but for many, it can be the start of a lifetime of love, Dan said.

A Variety of Matchmaking and Date Coaching Services for Any Need

Dan said he does anything necessary to connect singles with someone who would be a great partner for life.

“I want my work to help people find great partners that they can raise a family with,” he said. “I’m appalled by how high the divorce rate is and the detrimental effects that single-parent homes have on children’s development. If I can teach people how to find great partners, and how to be a great partner, I think I can help improve that statistic, even if it’s a small percentage.”

Clients can choose matchmaking or coaching services alone, but when Dan takes a matchmaking client, he said he also provides coaching when necessary.

His matchmaking packages typically run for six months and include unlimited matches. His date coaching services can be in person or over the phone.

“I am most famous for my infield dating coaching for men, in which I take them out into the streets and teach them how to approach and flirt with women they are interested in,” he said.

Dan can help clients create online profiles, or improve on existing versions. He posts advertisements to attract successful, educated, and caring singles who would make excellent partners and adds them to his database. Plus, he often hosts singles events to bring more people together.

As part of his comprehensive approach, Dan visits hotspots throughout Miami where smart and fun women gather to search on behalf of his clients.

His matchmaking clients tend to be professional men in their 40s and 50s and women in their 30s and 40s. His date coaching clients are much more diverse, ranging from male college students learning to overcome their anxiety to divorced women finally ready to date again.

Dan Silverman: Planning New Podcasts, Videos, and Products

Dan has seen plenty of clients find love and get married over the years. He feels especially successful when he can help longtime singles who need a lot of help.

“My favorite success story was when I worked with a man who had never been in a relationship before. He was raised by two women who emotionally and physically abused him,” Dan said. “I also referred him to my father, who is a psychologist in Miami, while I worked on his social skills. Within three months, he got into his first relationship.”

Dan said he stays busy throughout the year, and he plans to grow his YouTube channel and develop a podcast for interviews in the upcoming months to reach more singles. He’s preparing to launch other products to teach dating techniques to singles throughout the nation.

Dan’s successful clients often sing his praises after he helps them find lasting love.

“Dan knows what he’s doing. I used to be clueless around women, but Dan taught me everything I needed to know,” Jay wrote in an online testimonial. “Not just about approaching and talking to women, but developing an inner self-confidence that has improved my life all-around.”

For Dan, seeing singles find meaningful relationships makes all of the work worth it.

“It feels good. I am happy to be aligned with what I feel is my purpose in life and to make a living from it as well,” he said. “I feel like I am helping lonely people find happiness and self-confidence.”
