Many engaged couples dream of a picturesque rustic wedding but struggle to find a rural venue with modern amenities. That’s what makes The Red Barn at Outlook Farm so perfect: it’s a rustic setting for the modern wedding.

The Red Barn is a bright and welcoming space for a wedding or event.

Couples love the light wood and high beams that make the space bright and welcoming. The beautiful restrooms and central heating and cooling offer comfort and luxury that would be impossible to find in a traditional barn.

The private suite for couples offers a wonderful space to slip on the wedding gown, take a break from the party, and freshen up throughout the big day. As far as drinks go, two full-service bars and a variety of beverage package options ensure that guests are fully accommodated.

Plus, The Red Barn is located on The Links at Outlook Golf Course, which provides both excellent views and a potential activity for the day prior or even the morning of the wedding.

Should a couple need a accomodations for their guests, they need only to go downtown to the Stage House Inn, which is under same ownership and management as The Red Barn. There, they may want to reserve the one of the inn’s intimate event spaces for their rehearsal dinner or luncheon and/or send-off brunch. The on site restaurant, Dufour, provides a variety of event menus for that purpose.

Located just an hour north of Boston and 15 minutes from the coast in South Berwick, Maine, The Red Barn is the perfect place for a classic New England wedding.

“When we built the Red Barn, we were thinking about what would be important to couples,” said The Red Barn at Outlook Farm’s sales manager Lisa Flynn. “It’s the rustic elegance and the wedding of your dreams with all of the modern amenities on site.”

An All-Inclusive Experience

As every married or engaged couple knows, weddings can be very stressful. But at the Red Barn, they don’t need to be. Lisa told us that the staff strives to create a stress-free environment for couples and their guests.

The Red Barn’s close-knit team works hard to make sure that couples can focus on enjoying their wedding and one another, instead of needing to stress over logistics on their big day.

That’s why The Red Barn at Outlook Farm’s wedding packages are designed to be all-inclusive. That means that for a couple’s 75 to 220 guests, The Red Barn provides all seating, linens, napkins, flatware, china, set up and breakdown, food tastings, champagne toast, cake cutting, and a variety of food and menu options. The only thing people will need to bring in is a photographer, a wedding cake or dessert, and a florist if using one, Lisa said. The staff gladly makes recommendations for local vendors they trust.

The Red Barn even offers a shuttle service with a room block agreement at The Stage House Inn, so that guests can easily get to the venue without any additional struggle or cost. While legal in Maine, The Red Barn is allowed to host fireworks, which can make for a very fun celebration at the wedding.

The Red Barn offers three different food packages, depending on a couple’s price point, with options for dietary restrictions in each. They even have a separate add-on menu, so couples can choose to include additional fun food options, such as a late-night snack station.

According to couple Leslie and Dave, who got married at the Red Barn in September 2021, “The food was exceptional and the wedding packages are very easy to understand and pricing is very transparent.”

Booking at an all-inclusive venue is often much less expensive for couples, and The Red Barn is no exception. The venue is reasonably priced, and with no hidden costs, you can be totally confident that you are staying within your budget.

With weddings generally starting between 2 P.M. and 5 P.M. and ending around 11 P.M., couples can expect at least six hours of memories that will last a lifetime.

Your Wedding Gets Full Attention

Outlook Farm goes above and beyond in prioritizing each couple that gets married at the Red Barn. Unlike most venues, there is only one ceremony every day, Friday through Sunday, which means that the staff is totally dedicated to each couple that comes through. Instead of feeling like regular clients, couples will feel like the true priority of the staff.

But Lisa believes that what truly makes The Red Barn unique is the personal touch. “For every wedding, the couple is assigned their own wedding coordinator,” she told us.

The coordinators are wildly popular with couples, who find that they essentially replace the need for a wedding planner. Groom Andrew, who married his wife Elizabeth in November of 2020, said, “Emily, our coordinator, ensured that everything from start to finish was as smooth as possible. Because of her efforts, my wife and I did not have to worry or stress about anything, because we knew it was all in her extremely capable hands. We could tell that her and the rest of the staff there were the utmost professionals and had done it all before.”

Having the total focus of a wedding coordinator allows couples to loosen their hold of the logistical reins, and truly enjoy their wedding day.

Many couples choose to say “I do” outdoors on Outlook Farm.

While each couple gets the most direct contact with their wedding coordinator, the rest of the staff excels in the background. The full-service kitchen staff makes sure that the food is top-tier, and the servers and bar staff ensure every guest need is accommodated.

The Red Barn at Outlook Farm is part of a family business, which helps them create a strong team spirit and culture of support. Lisa believes their family culture trickles down into how cared-for couples feel on their wedding day.

“A lot of times a couple says they feel like part of the family or send pics from their one-year anniversary so there’s no bigger compliment than that, when they leave and feel you’re a part of their life now,” Lisa said. She and the rest of the staff are motivated by giving couples a personalized experience that impacts them for the rest of their lives.

The Red Barn Has a Gorgeous View Year Round

The scenery at The Red Barn is truly magical. The high beams of the barn and light coloring create a neutral background that photographs beautifully with minimal need for decor.

Rachel, who got married in August 2021, left a wonderful review on The Knot. She said, “The venue itself is stunning, the high ceilings and open beams were exactly what we were looking for! The options for ceremony sites were all gorgeous.”

The Links Golf Course gives the venue a lush background, no matter the season. The ballroom opens into a covered veranda, open year round, so that guests can look out upon the property as they dance. At sunset, the colors of the sky are incredible above the golf course and make for an excellent background as the reception begins. The historic farmhouse — not in use, but still on the property — is a well-used feature of the property for quintessential New England wedding photos.

Given the neutral look of the venue, couples have a great ability to match their vision, no matter what. They can implement bright colors without them competing with the space, or use minimal decor and achieve a timeless look. Either way, the venue works with their aesthetics.

Most couples hold their ceremony in front of the magnificent “tree of life” (officially a sugar maple) on the property. The photos that couples get in front of it are stunning. No matter the season, it offers a wonderful backdrop for the wedding that almost “reaches out and gives you a hug” as you say your vows.

The winter months are especially magical at The Red Barn, with the snow can creating a wonderland backdrop for photography, while the fireplaces and heating of the indoor space keep guests warm. No matter the season, the venue is excellent.

For a magical New England wedding, couples should consider the Red Barn — they certainly won’t regret it.
