PeopleFinders launched Stud or Dud on Wednesday, an AI-powered dating information platform designed to give users more information about potential dates before meeting in person.
The web-based service allows users to search using a phone number or a name and location. It draws from public records, publicly available information and other permitted sources, according to the company.
Depending on the subject you look up, the findings can include criminal, court, property and business records. The information is then delivered in an ai-generated summary for the user. And sometimes certain details in the results are given a confidence level, telling the user if they need to confirm this detail for themselves.
But does your date know you looked them up? Not unless you tell them. PeopleFinders says searches are private and the person being searched is not notified.
The service starts at $5 for one profile credit. Monthly subscription plans are also available.
Stud or Dud says its results should not be used as a safety determination or compatibility assessment. The company also warns that public-record data and AI-generated commentary can be incomplete or inaccurate.
