The internet of fake headlines is at it again. This time a screenshot seemingly from Erika Kirk’s social media says she’s starting and has joined a Christian dating app. Not true!
Erika Kirk, widow of right-wing political activist Charlie Kirk, is NOT starting a dating app. She is single now, so maybe she’s on a dating app, we don’t know, but that’s absolutely nobody’s business but hers.
We’ve seen far-right pundits throw out the idea of a conservative dating app (cough, The Right Stuff, cough). But this isn’t that. It’s someone trolling Erika, plain and simple.
If you see this screenshot circulating online, call it out as fake news and don’t feed the internet trolls.
Erika Kirk has come under scrutiny for taking over her husband’s leadership at Turning Point USA. She can barely hug a political ally without a dozen articles being written. This post appears to want to pile on and get people talking.
And we hope it does get people talking… about how easily false rumors can spread online.
Especially in the world of AI, the truth is constantly being blurred, warped, bullied, and sometimes outright hidden.
It’s important to look at sources and know the difference between her real actions and sensational fiction.
