The Scoop: The health of a relationship depends on the quality of time spent on it. The couples calendar app Cupla helps couples find and spend this essential time together. The app’s recent survey illuminates the importance of investing meaningful time in a relationship and gives insights into things couples can do to strengthen their connection.
We all know the strength of relationships relies in large part on the time we dedicate to them. We hear so much about how essential it is to find and enjoy quality time with your partner, whether that’s weekly date nights, quiet moments alone together, or enjoying shared hobbies.
But finding quality time to share with a partner can be a challenge.
Busy lives are full of distractions, and if you don’t intentionally make regular time to connect with your partner, it’s easy for that time to never happen at all.
Cupla is a couples calendar app that was designed to help couples stay connected. With Cupla, partners can share calendars, manage to-do lists, send reminders, and plan their lives together.
The app released its First Annual Relationship Survey. The survey asked app users to measure different aspects of their relationship closeness and satisfaction, plus share insights on how Cupla helped them improve in these areas.
The findings made one thing clear– quality time is crucially important for the health and longevity of your relationship.
Cupla’s 2023 Relationship Survey
Cupla is a relationship management app designed for couples. Erika and Will Palmer founded the app in 2020, and since then, it has garnered over 250,000 downloads across 150 countries.
Erika and Will are married and created Cupla to empower couples like themselves to spend more quality time together. The app allows couples to manage shared schedules, tasks, and events in one location.
Cupla polled its users for its First Annual Relationship Survey in 2023. The survey aimed to measure user feelings about Cupla and determine whether the app was making a significant difference in couples’ lives.
The questionnaire was completed by 797 respondents, who reported their feelings of love, commitment, trust, satisfaction, closeness, passion, and satisfaction with quality time in their relationship.

Cupla identified these relationship areas as indicators of relationship quality and satisfaction. Users ranked their feelings in each area on a scale of zero to seven. Across all categories and respondents, the average score was 6.34.
The survey contained data from 81 couples on the app. Cupla had both partners answer questions about how the app helped them in each relationship aspect. Couples were particularly likely to agree with each other about the extent to which using Cupla has increased their intimacy.
Respondents most strongly agreed that Cupla has made them more excited about the future. 62.5% of respondents reported that Cupla has reduced barriers to spending quality time together.
Couples who can get excited about shared plans for the future are happier in their relationship as a whole. Cupla’s survey showed that, compared to couples who didn’t create shared events on the app, people who created two to three shared events reported higher satisfaction in their relationships.
If You Don’t Have Time, You Need to Make It
Cupla’s survey showed that many couples benefit from spending quality time together and intentionally planning that quality time. Cupla encourages couples to plan time together and keep each other in the loops of their busy schedules.
Cupla is available on Android and iOS. The app features a unique shared calendar where couples can merge their work and personal calendars. Couples can easily compare schedules and calendars to find convenient times to spend together.

Couples can also create shared events that sync to both calendars. Cupla supports Google Calendar, Outlook Calendar, Apple Calendar, and Android Calendar, making it easy to connect regardless of your preferred calendar platform.
Couples can also create and organize tasks using Cupla’s to-do feature. The app’s task manager is designed with couples in mind and allows users to create individual and shared tasks, customize to-do lists with labels, priorities, and due dates, and connect tasks between calendar events.
Regular date nights are one way to ensure you spend enough quality time with your partner. Cupla helps schedule regular date nights with a date planner. The date planner allows couples to set regular date goals, plan dates seamlessly through the app, and receive reminders about upcoming dates.
Couples can also add key dates, like birthdays, anniversaries, and other important milestones, to the date planner. Users can also keep customizable countdowns handy on their homescreen for those extra special occasions.
With Cupla, couples can have a simple and shared digital hub where they can stay connected and on top of their relationship to-dos.
Daily Connection in Busy Lives
Cupla is especially useful for couples juggling unconventional schedules. One review, written by Melanie, attests that Cupla made all the difference in managing daily tasks with her husband, who travels frequently for work.
“When he was gone, I felt like I had to take on everything to make life feel normal,” the review read. “When he was home, he was overcompensating to make sure he did enough. We were running ourselves ragged.”

Melanie said Cupla changed everything. Despite her husband’s busy schedule, planning dates became simple. They use Cupla to organize household chores, keep up with to-do lists, and focus on nurturing their relationship.
Jay and Gloria are another couple who rave about Cupla. “We got Cupla recently after it was suggested from a friend,” the review said. “We both have busy schedules and Cupla has helped tremendously. Dinners, events, and trips are easily added to the calendar, and we can both plan around them.”
By making quality time easier to enjoy, Cupla helps couples get excited about their future plans. Couples can enjoy enhanced communication, more equal contributions to the upkeep of the relationship, and stay on the same page about their goals.
