The Scoop: Many couples have hundreds, if not thousands, of photos spread across their mobile devices and social media accounts. But too often, they just get buried under the steady flow of more images. Social Print Studio helps make those online photos more prominent by bringing them to life. The platform allows users to print, share, and gift physical photographs to friends, family, or that special someone. Users can transform their social media memories into framed images, wall art, photo books, or calendars. Social Print Studio also has a suite of apps to simplify other projects, including greeting cards.
When a couple returns from an exciting trip, the only tangible reminders they may have — other than souvenirs — are photos. During their journey, they may post some photos to their social media accounts, but once they get back home, they may not look at the pictures often — or ever.
Once those photos are buried below other social media posts, they can be inconvenient to pull up on a phone or laptop. Searching through a camera roll may be equally as time-consuming because not every shot taken on vacation was post-worthy.
Social Print Studio helps those couples keep their memories in plain sight by allowing them to print their favorite photos to display at home — or give as gifts. Users can choose to have their photos shipped in beautiful matte frames or even turn them into a photo book to place on the coffee table for guests to flip through.
No matter what option users choose, having a physical copy of those memories allows them to think about them more often. According to Business Insider, people snap around 1.2 trillion photos each year. But, even as people are taking more pictures than ever before, they aren’t necessarily doing anything with them other than posting a small fraction of them online.

Social Print Studio helps people bring photo memories into the real world.
Social Print Studio is on a mission to change that dynamic.
“Our founders saw the need for users to print their Instagram photos, and for memories to exist in a physical form outside of our devices,” said Cara Price with the Social Print Studio Marketing Department.
Social Print Studio started small, with only a few team members and no investors. The San Francisco-based company still makes all of its products in California, while aiming to keep its prices affordable for everyone.
Couples Can Decorate Their Homes with Reminders of Love
Users can create an account on Social Print Studio and quickly start creating photo products for themselves, their partners, or their friends. They can design their products from a web browser or one of the company’s dedicated apps.
One of the company’s apps is called Print Studio. The iOS version offers almost all of the same options as the web version, while the Android options are more limited. But both apps allow users to transfer their smartphone images directly to their projects automatically.
For those looking specifically to create greeting cards, they can use the company’s dedicated Greetings app.
“People use it a lot for Christmas and New Year’s cards. There’s also a ‘thank you’ section and just-because cards. All of the cards come with envelopes for sending, as well,” Cara said.
After users decide how they want to navigate Social Print Studio, they can choose the type of project they want to work on. If someone is looking for home decor, the Wall Art & Decor section may be a good place to start. That’s where users can select from a variety of products, including framed prints and posters, and prints on metal, wood or canvas.
They can also choose from a grid frame, which allows them to include several images within a black frame, a modern frame, or a distressed-wood Santa Cruz frame.
Next, they can choose the size that they want before starting to upload photos from their computer, cloud platform, or mobile device.
Once they place an order, Social Print Studio ships the project as soon as it is finished.
Offering Unique Projects with a Personal Touch
Social Print Studio attracts a wide variety of users who are interested in the unique photo projects the platform offers. The majority of users are women in the United States ranging in age from 18 to 44.
“One of our key targets is a thoughtful Instagrammer in her late 20s to her early 40s who prints out her photos for everything from creative gifts to decorating,” said Cara.
Another key demographic are those who want to create photo gifts for their partners.
“Photos are a great gift option because they’re so thoughtful. You can show how much someone means to you, but you don’t have to spend a lot of money to do that,” Cara told us.

Users can create a variety of photo products from Social Print Studio’s suite of apps.
Cara has two recommendations for those looking for a gift for their partner. The first is a photo strip, which comes in traditional and large sizes. Most users choose images that are consistent with a photo booth feel for that type of project.
“We often see people get the giant photo strips as a surprise for someone. Those are fun to have and display. And people often use the little photo strips as part of wrapping the present, or even as a bookmark,” Cara said.
Her other suggestion is a beautiful metal print. These frameless prints are developed on metal that can be hung on a wall and polished to a brilliant shine — much like a mirror.
“The metal prints are a modern, easy-to-make gift. The print quality is crisp, and the colors really pop for photos of people,” Cara said.
Social Print Studio: Making Photos a Bigger Part of Our Lives
The ubiquity of smartphones has undoubtedly made photo-taking easier. That’s a big reason why people take more than 1 trillion photos on their devices each year.
But that hasn’t necessarily translated to having more of our favorite photos being displayed in our lives. Social Print Studio came along to simplify the process of creating prints and designing gifts.
“Everyone is capturing more moments on their devices and spending more time online, but we create ways for people to make those into tangible memories, outside of their screens,” Cara said.
The Social Print Studio team is spread out across the United States, which gives it a keen understanding of what customers around the country need. One thing the team has discovered is that users enjoy exchanging meaningful gifts with their loved ones. A meaningful gift doesn’t have to be an expensive one, according to Cara.
“Photos make a really personal gift, but they’re also easy and affordable,” she said. “It doesn’t have to cost a fortune to give a high-quality gift that will make someone’s day.”
Keeping their products affordable and easy to create has been the Social Print Studio’s mission since the beginning. And the team continues to keep up with the ways users are designing their projects and how they’re interacting with the platform’s options.
“The whole team loves to see how people are using our products and the impact that they’re having on people’s lives. Ultimately, our company’s mission is to bring joy,” Cara said.
